Pure matte black.

Carbon is true to Winter's neutrals for having little or no visible colour cast. Especially with cosmetics however, some colour is generally visible, though to a far lesser degree for Winter than other Seasons. Carbon is unique for being an exceptionally neutral black and at the same time, not synthetic or as intense as, for example, an ultra-black mascara. It is also a clean and lightweight black, compared with, for example, cast iron black. Although it may appear blue or reddish in the pan, the application is clear black, or perhaps the darkest black-brown in the sense of being imaginable as hair colour.

The  image remains in the collection to show colour relationships, until such time as palettes are available once again.
